Prius hybrid batteries have a limited life span of 8 years or 150,000 miles on average. So if your car hasn’t had a bad battery yet you can be expecting it soon as the 8 year mark is coming up on all 01′-03′ Prius vehicles.  The average cost of a battery replacement can cost anywhere from $3400 – $3800 depending on where you get it.  I don’t know about you, but I thought you would buy a Prius to SAVE MONEY, not blow it!

So what’s your alternative? Well, you could buy a used Prius battery, but it might not last very long.  Plus, what if the seller is dishonest and claims the battery is newer but its actually 7 years old – now you’ve got a year left until you need to buy another one!

You could buy a new battery, but for $3800 you could buy a decent used car!
